1. Introduction

Welcome to Wepora Browser ("we," "our," or "the app"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Wepora Browser is engineered with a strict local-first, privacy-by-design architecture. This Privacy Policy describes how Wepora Browser operates, what data is processed, and your rights when using our mobile application on Android and other supported platforms.

By downloading, installing, or using Wepora Browser, you acknowledge the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike conventional browsers that aggregate analytics and user telemetry, Wepora Browser does not operate servers that collect or monitor your personal activity:

  • No Personal Identifiers: We do not require account creation, registration, email address, phone number, or name.
  • No Browsing Telemetry: We do not log the websites you visit, the searches you perform, or the files you download.
  • No Location Tracking: We do not collect GPS, Wi-Fi, or cellular network location data.
  • No Commercial Data Sale: We never sell, rent, monetize, or disclose user data to advertisers or data brokers.

3. Data Processed Locally On Your Device

All data generated during your browsing sessions is retained strictly within the app's isolated local sandbox on your device:

  • Browsing History & Bookmarks: Saved locally to provide quick access to visited pages. You can search, filter, individually delete, or clear all history and bookmarks at any time.
  • Quick Links: Customized home screen shortcuts are stored locally in device preferences and never transmitted externally.
  • Cookies & Cache: Generated natively by the underlying web engine to allow website logins and fast page loading. You can purge all cookies and cache through Settings > Clear All Data.
  • Private Browsing Mode: In private tabs, browsing history, recordings, and bookmarks are disabled. Session cookies and cached data are discarded when the private session ends.
  • Local Activity Recording & Replay: An optional tool designed for developers and power users to record navigation sequences and inspect page interactions. All recordings are saved strictly on-device in JSON format, can be exported manually by you, or deleted whenever desired.

4. Device Permissions & Purpose

Wepora Browser only requests operating system permissions strictly necessary to fulfill browser features requested by the user:

Permission Technical Name Purpose & Justification
Internet Access android.permission.INTERNET Required to connect to the Internet to load webpages, web assets, and search queries requested by the user.
Wake Lock android.permission.WAKE_LOCK Enables continuous, uninterrupted background audio and video playback when user locks their screen or switches tabs.

Notifications android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS Displays an interactive system media notification with Play / Pause controls while background media is active. No promotional or marketing notifications are ever sent.

5. Third-Party Websites & Search Engines

As a web browser, Wepora Browser serves as a user agent enabling you to access third-party websites across the World Wide Web:

  • Search Providers: When you enter search queries in the address bar, the query is dispatched to your chosen search engine (Google by default, DuckDuckGo, or Bing). Your search interactions are governed by the privacy policy of the respective search engine provider.
  • External Websites: When navigating to third-party domains, those websites may deploy their own cookies, trackers, and scripts. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any websites you visit.

6. AI Assistance & Privacy Controls

Wepora Browser includes optional AI assistance features. We enforce strict data minimization for all assisted interactions:

  • Explicit Opt-In: AI features require deliberate user consent and are never silently activated in the background.
  • Session-Scoped Consent: Consent is scoped strictly to the current session and never stored permanently across restarts.
  • Sensitive Field Exclusion: Passwords, payment card numbers, CVVs, and sensitive credential fields are strictly filtered out and never exposed.

7. Data Security & Storage

We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your information:

  • All application data resides inside the sandboxed file system provided by the Android OS, preventing unauthorized access by other applications.
  • Downloads initiated by you are saved securely in your designated device storage location.
  • Network communications over HTTPS are encrypted via TLS as negotiated directly between your device and the destination web server.

8. User Rights & Data Deletion

You have complete autonomy over all data stored by Wepora Browser:

  • Clear Browsing Data: Navigate to Settings > Clear All Data to instantly remove all browsing history, cookies, web storage, and cached assets.
  • Manage Bookmarks & History: Open the Bookmarks or History sheet to search, remove individual entries, or tap Clear All.
  • Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling Wepora Browser through your device's settings permanently and irrevocably deletes all on-device data and configurations associated with the application.
